Me, Jacob and a Rainbow

The other day we actually got some rain and then afterward there was one of the most beautiful rainbows I have ever seen right in front of our house! I love these pictures of Jacob and I. He has the most angelic smile in all of them and I just have to say that Jacob is my little angel. Have I mentioned lately how much I love my little boy? There are times when I truly believe that I have the most adorable, sweet, funny little boy in the whole world! He is so much more than I was ever able to imagine a little boy being, and now that I have him in my life I feel so incredibly lucky and blessed! He is my little buddy and he makes every day so special!

Thanksgiving Weekend

This year for Thanksgiving we were lucky enough to be able to make a trip to Monroe Utah to visit Brads mom and grandpa. Brads older brother Paul and his wife and three kids also came down from Draper, UT and so did my younger sister Stacey who is going to BYU and Brads younger brother Steve who also lives in Provo. It was cramped in the little house but we had so much fun! This picture was taken just a couple hours after Jacobs cousins finally arrived and as you can tell from the picture he does not know quite what to do about all the attention he is getting from his two cute cousins!
As you can see he eventually warmed up to them just fine. He was loving all the attention!
The day after Thanksgiving we decided to go on a drive and also let the guys shoot their guns out in the middle of nowhere. The girls stayed in the car with Jacob.
Look at that face! He is having a blast. Such simple things make him so happy!

After watching the guys shoot cans for a while us girls decided to take our turn. Here is Stacey giving it a try.

The Old Town of Monroe Utah

So these are some random pictures of the town that we spent Thanksgiving in this year. Brads grandparents were born and raised here as were their children. This is the old Monroe movie theater. Obviously it has not been used for decades, but it is right across the block from Brads grandparents house. In-between is the grade school, and on the other side of that is his grandparents house.
This is an old community center where they used to hold dances and Brads mom said they even had roller skating parties. I would love to see the inside, but I don' think anyone is allowed to go in there now.
Here is the old city library, which as you can tell by the lights in the windows it is still being used.
This is just a neat old well in the park by the grade school.
Here is another shot of the old movie theater, and right next to it is actually one of our favorite new restaurants called Sagebrush Grill. Its inside what used to be the old drug store. It is very nice inside now and they have the BEST food. I've told Brad I could totally retire in this old town if they opened up the movie theater and Sagebrush stayed open. Its our perfect date night right across the street (that is if we move into his grandparents home someday).

I don't know why, but we did not take any pictures of the surrounding mountains and beautiful scenery that is all around this old town. Monroe has become one of my favorite places to visit. Since I have been married to Brad I have been here for many weekends and many holidays and I have many good memories here. One of our favorite things to do when we visit is go 4-wheeling in the mountains.
It was very sad to learn that Brads grandma Weitta Mills passed away a couple weeks before Thanksgiving. In the five years that I knew her she became a very special person in my life, as has grandpa Ivan. Brad adores his grandparents and the many memories that he has spending time with them in this neat part of Utah. Brads mom has been living in their home off and on for a couple years now, and for the last 10 months or so she has been living there permanently. We are very grateful to her for taking such good care of her parents, our grandparents. We had a wonderful time staying with them over Thanksgiving this year.
