Playtime in the Crib- He asked for it

A few days ago Jacob and I were just hanging around the house as usual. I was doing my best to keep him entertained with toys, puzzles, blocks, baby signing time movies and I went into Jacobs room to get something or put something away and Jacob starts pointing and jabbering at his crib. So I asked him, "Do you want to get in your crib?" And he reacted the way he usually does when he wants something so I put him in the crib and gave him some toys. Little did I know that about 25 minutes later after I had left the room to run around and get some things done, he would still be happily sitting their entertaining himself in his crib! I guess Jacob needs alone time just like mom does sometimes! I thought this was so cute!

Such a funny little boy! I tried to pull him out a couple times and he refused. He just really wanted to play in his crib. He seems to like alone time in his crib a little too much sometimes. I have gone to get him up from naps before and found him just laying in there, happy as can be playing with his stuffed animals and things. Who knows how long he is in there awake sometimes. He never makes a peep!

Keeping Cool

Now that the temperature has cooled down just a little bit here in Arizona, don't get me wrong, the high is still in the 100's each day, but its like 105 instead of 115, I have been making a point to get Jacob outside for a little bit each day. Usually when we are outside I use that time to water the flowers and plants out on our front porch and back patio. Well, I don't know if its because Jacob cant drink water that he has such a fascination with it, but he insists on chasing the stream of water from the hose where ever I'm pointing it. I will be spraying at a bush or something and he will run his face right through it. I know he must just love the cool wetness of the water on his face and lips when it gets on him, and I just cant help but let him enjoy it a little.
You can tell by looking at this picture that he just ran through a stream of water because his hair looks all funny. But just look at that face! He is having the time of his life! Its gotten to the point that I just spray him on purpose now because I cant keep him away from the water anyways.
He just kind of dances, runs and skips around in the water. Look at those cute legs! And below he is making a face that I just adore. He's always flirting with the camera.

Reading Time- Jacob's Favorite!!

Story time is Jacobs and my favorite time. I have been reading books to Jacob since he was 2 or 3 months old and it has paid off because he LOVES to read with me! He always keeps his arms wrapped around my arm when I'm reading to him and its a special time that I cherish so much. He is such a good listener and participator during story time too. He always helps to turn the pages and make the sound effects. We have so much fun!

Jacob's Fort

A couple weeks ago on a Saturday night Brad and I decided to build Jacob his first fort. It all started when Brad was sitting at the stools at our high counter top and Jacob was walking through, around and under the stools and Brads legs. He was just laughing because he thought he was being so clever hiding out under these high stools that we have. So that is when we decided to build a more fun fort for Jacob. It was nothing fancy, just a couple chairs with a big blanket over top, but you can tell by looking at these pictures that Jacob loved it! He just looks so excited and happy about it!
