Funny Dance

Here is one more video of Jacobs dancing. None of these are doing him justice! He is actually quite good!:)

My Little Dancer

I get dizzy just watching this one. You will see towards the middle of the video Jacob starts spinning to the beat of the music. He whips his head around real fast every time and I don't know how he does it without falling down!

Passion for Dancing

We recently discovered that Jacob has a real passion for dancing. This video clip does not show very many of his great dancing moves, but watch how he reacts to the guy on the TV when he flips at the very beginning. I mentioned Jacobs "wicked"sounding laugh in an earlier posting and here you get a little example of what it sounds like. Jacob loves to watch dancing with the stars with me and he tries to copy all their dance moves. He gets so upset whenever a dance ends too and I usually have to rewind many times so he can watch a dance again.

Not too much new with the Rich crew.....

Well, there has not been anything to exciting going on around here, that is why we have been slacking off on our blog. Of course you will read and see the cute new things that Jacob has been doing below, but Brad and I have been wanting to share a little bit about ourselves in our family blog so I thought I would just type a little something up right now.
Brad is still keeping very busy at work. He is a Personal Loan Consultant for Countrywide/Bank of America and he always has things to do and phone calls coming in. He does not even have time to call me most days and that can be kind of hard when he is working till 9. When he works till 9 I usually don't expect him home until at least 9:30 and so that makes for some pretty long days. I usually let Jacob stay up on those nights so that they can see each other for at least a little while before he goes to bed. Luckily Brads schedule does not always keep him there until nine. It goes back and forth from week to week. He works until 7pm one week and then 9pm the next week. Something good that makes up for this are the 3 day weekends that he has every other week. He also never has to work past 7pm on Fridays and when he works Saturday, he gets off by 5pm.
Brad has told me on several occasions that he really loves his job. He feels like he is really helping people and it makes him feel really good. He works with the bank's current customers and reviews their mortgage loans to see if he can improve their financial situation. He just finished his 4 month training process last month and so this is his first month on his own. Brad is doing a great job so far and he has only just begun.
As for me, I have been keeping really busy with my new church calling as a counselor in the RS Presidency. I feel so blessed to have a calling in the RS presidency again. I love having reasons and excuses to meet with the sisters in the ward and its really fun to plan the upcoming activities. Right now we are planning a Get To Know You Night for the RS because we are a new ward and a lot of the women feel like the don't know anyone. This will be the first week in November and then in the following month of December we will have our big RS Christmas dinner. We are not sure just yet what we will be doing besides dinner. But we only care about the food, right? With Brads crazy schedule I usually have to take Jacob to all my meetings and activities but luckily he is never a problem.
I have also been very busy trying to get all of Jacobs therapies set up. It is important that Jacob has an Occupational Therapist who will help him with his eating and drinking issues, as well as a Speech and Physical Therapists. So far I have three therapists, one of each, visiting for just next week a lone. It has taken months to make this finally happen. I don't know what it is but the Early Education Program here in Chandler is not as on top of things as the one we had in Utah. I was finally able to get set up with a government program called Division of Developmental Disabilities, where I actually have my own personal coordinator named Dorothy who helps me get all our appointments and therapies set up. This has helped a lot.
Jacob is doing really well as you can see from all our pictures. He is still unable to drink, although we have not been able to have an actual swallow study done for several months now, but it is still apparent that he is not handling any liquids the right way. He is a very happy little boy anyways and he is doing new things every day. Right now he loves to dance, especially when I'm watching Dancing with the Stars. He loves to watch them and then copy what they do. And he also loves Barney. When ever the " I Love You, You Love Me" song comes on he comes and stands by me and gives me a hug and a kiss. It is the cutest thing! That is about all for now. We love you all and we will keep you updated!

This is me posing in my dream kitchen. I spend 65 percent of my time in the kitchen and I just love to cook so hopefully someday I will have a kitchen like this. I love the granite counter tops!

This is a Model Home that Jacob is walking around in. One of our new favorite weekend activities is going to the new neighborhoods that are being built up and looking in the model homes. Its free and very entertaining. Of course we are not quite ready to buy a home but there is nothing wrong with looking, right? Its fun to dream and also just get ideas of where we might want to buy when the time is right. It is a really fun thing to do and surprisingly Jacob loves it too. I cant take him on a walk in our neighborhood now without him wanting to walk into some random house. He thinks every home is open to us to just walk into now.

Now that it has cooled down a little bit here in Arizona, especially in the mornings and evenings, Jacob and I have found a new favorite way to pass the time. We sit on a blanket in the back yard with toys and books and just enjoy the outdoors. Jacob especially likes to watch the planes fly by, we have a small airport by our house. Oh, and he never wants to go outside without his hat these days.

We had to bring the car seat in the house the other day when we were cleaning the car and Jacob insisted on sitting in it. Oh, and those are his two stuffed puppies that he is obsessed with right now. He sleeps, eats, and goes on walks and drives with them.

This is Jacobs new hysterical laugh. When he see's something he thinks is REALLY funny, he actually throws his head back and lets out this hilarious whicked sounding laugh. It is the funniest thing!

Jacob recently discovered mom and dads bed. He loves to sit in our bed now at night before his bed time and watch the baby channel on our bedroom TV. He looks especially little in that big bed!

Baby Talk

Jacob has found a new way to melt our hearts. He has been saying dad and dadda for a long time, but only for the past month or so has he been saying momma and he has gotten real good at it. I tell my husband he sounds like Pebbles from the Flintstones whenever he talks. He has the sweetest little voice and way of saying things. In this video he is trying to say momma dadda back and forth cause he knows it just makes us crazy over him and he loves to get our reactions. You can tell its a little tricky for him to do but he does a good job anyways. He just started doing this on his own a couple days ago. Some of Jacobs other words are: tickle, please, thank you, dog, ball, and cracker. We have a speech therapist that is going to start working with Jacob later this month, but we think he is doing great and we cant wait to hear more come out of that adorable little mouth!

Caught Updating the Blog

If you have been following our blog recently you may have noticed that most of the posts are about our son Jacob. The vast majority complimenting his adorable looks and his current adventures in Arizona. You probably thought that we were obsessed parents under the impression that everyone else in the world is as interested in our son as we are. Well the truth must be told. We could not figure out who in the world kept adding these new posts about Jacob. Had the perpetrator not gotten a little too brazen with his unauthorized posting during nap time he may have never been caught. Here is the footage of Jake caught red handed today adding his newest update. I guess its time to change the passwords!
